Private Production Advisory – Start Your Own Brand or Product Line
Frequently Asked Questions
Producing a single unit for pre-order purposes can unfortunately be quite costly, as there are several once-off development processes involved before production can begin. These include:
- Pattern drafting and development
- Product testing and refinement
- Sampling, construction, and testing adjustments within the factory (these are internal samples used for testing purposes before an official sample is sent to you)
- Machine setup and production preparation
Material sourcing for low quantities
Product Development & Pattern Making
- Pattern making and product development fees apply to all new product developments unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
- Pattern drafting fees are charged separately and are non-refundable once development has commenced. A fixed pattern making fee of R1,500 applies to all new product developments unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
- If the Customer supplies a production-ready pattern approved by the Manufacturer, pattern making fees may be waived at the Manufacturer’s discretion.
Product development may include:
• Pattern drafting
• Product testing
• Construction adjustments
• Internal factory sampling
• Design refinements
• Material and hardware sourcing
Producing a single sample unit is significantly more costly than bulk production due to development, testing, sourcing, and production setup requirements.

Branding & Logo Application
The Customer is responsible for supplying all branding artwork, logos, and brand assets required for production.
The Manufacturer does not offer in-house branding services within the factory.
All branding applications, including but not limited to:
- Embossing
- Debossing
- Laser engraving
- Steel logos
- Metal branding plates
- Custom hardware
- Printed branding applications (Ribbon)
are outsourced to third-party suppliers and specialists.
Branding costs may vary depending on supplier pricing, order quantities, setup requirements, tooling, and branding methods. The Manufacturer has no control over outsourced branding pricing and reserves the right to revise branding quotations accordingly.
The Manufacturer recommends woven branding labels/tags sewn into the seams of the product, as these are generally the most cost-effective branding solution for startup and small-batch production.
Branding labels, tags, embossing plates, moulds, laser setup fees, and custom tooling may require minimum order quantities and upfront payment prior to production commencing.
The Customer is responsible for approving all branding artwork, spelling, logo placement, sizing, and final branding specifications prior to production.
Should you decide to proceed, we will provide you with our production agreement for review and signing prior to development commencing.
The agreement outlines our production costs, lead times, payment terms, and development process in detail.
The Manufacturer does not copy, reproduce, counterfeit, or intentionally replicate existing branded products, trademarked items, copyrighted designs, or protected intellectual property belonging to other brands or companies.
The Customer acknowledges that any reference images, inspiration images, or concept designs supplied to the Manufacturer are intended for design guidance and inspiration purposes only.
The Manufacturer reserves the right to refuse the development or production of any product that, in the Manufacturer’s opinion, directly copies or infringes upon another brand’s intellectual property, trademarks, registered designs, copyrighted works, or proprietary product concepts.
The Customer accepts full responsibility for ensuring that any designs, concepts, logos, artwork, or branding supplied for production do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
