Without proper care, the leather may become dry, porous, and lose its natural sheen — leading to lightening, dullness, or dark, spotty areas where it rubs against clothing or your body.

Once leather care is applied, your handbag may appear slightly darker in tone — this is completely normal and part of nourishing the hide.
